Interior tile is the use of a drainage system to manage water from the inside of a structure. Interior tile systems can be used when there is no access from the exterior or to reduce cost in managing water.

With Abalon’s interior tile system you will not need to remove drywall or studs, just the flooring carpet and/or tile. Abalon installs the system at the same elevation as the bottom of your foundation footings. This ensures that the weeping tile is now the lowest point and water will be diverted to that point. Abalon connects this interior tile to a sump system that will discharge the water to the exterior. Most commonly, this type of system is used in a house that has concrete walls and does not have an exterior weeping tile system. Block walls should not be repaired using this system, as water will still enter the block cavities and mould could become a bigger problem in the future. Preserved wood foundation (PWF) foundations are another type of wall that must be repaired from the outside, as the wood could continue to get wet and mould, which would also be a problem. Interior tile is good for crawl spaces, partially dug out basements, or where an exterior repair is not possible. 

My house floods after 2 or 3 days of steady rain. The basement is not finished and the walls are concrete. I can see water coming in all over the place where the wall and floor meet. What can I do?

During heavy rains there is a buildup of hydrostatic pressure that encourages water to try and migrate under your concrete floor. The water can’t get under the floor so it starts to flood. You need an interior tile system. This will collect that water and send it to sump system that will automatically discharge it to the exterior.

I have a sump system but I have water coming in via my sewer line clean out. They are about 10 feet away from eachother. What can I do?
