Foundation crack repair

Cracks typically appear at the weakest points in the foundation walls, such as windows, beam pockets, and changes in wall elevations.

Abalon’s specialized method includes our crews hand excavating to the foundation footing, placing soil on plywood, and shoring if necessary.

Crews chip out any cracks, snap-ties, and the junction of wall and footing. These areas are cleaned in preparation to be sealed with a polyurethane caulking.

Polyurethane caulking is applied to all the chipped out areas.

A typical excavation is 2ft out and 5ft wide. The depth depends on the footing elevation.

Crews will apply non-shrinking hydraulic grout over caulked areas.

Additionally, a foundation damp proofing is applied to repair area to allow grout to dry completely.

Once dry, crews will cover the balance the of wall with damp proofing.

If weeping tile exists, we install a foundation wrap. When water is present in theĀ  window wells, we use the Sonotube to drain them.

Our crews will cover the weeping tile with washed rock.

Upon completion of the project, we backfill the work area. Abalon takes pride in leaving our work sites clean and looking like new again. Another professional job completed by the Abalon team.
